I still have a lot of unexplored areas in New England, so much so that I’m not sure if I’ll ever get the chance to see them all. However, I can now add Apsley Falls and Walcha to my list of places visited. In many ways, this trip was a scouting mission, allowing me to assess the area and determine what would be suitable for future photo shoots and what wouldn’t. Sadly, we arrived at Apsley Falls too late in the day to get any truly amazing shots – the sun was too high and harsh. But, I can easily envision the falls looking stunning at daybreak, during a misty or foggy morning, or even just on a rainy day. The potential for this location is undeniable.
As for Walcha, it’s a charming little town that won me over instantly. If I could find a way to make living there financially viable, I’d be there in a heartbeat. The locals were incredibly welcoming, and the town exudes a charming, artisanal feel. I loved my brief visit and can’t wait to return.
