In 2008, I wrote the script for “John The Fisherman“, a short film project that I had intended to produce using a combination of live-action background plates and animation. Over the course of the following 6 years, my perspective on filmmaking and my understanding of animation techniques evolved significantly. In retrospect, the production of “John The Fisherman” was a process that spanned both a brief period of one month and an extended period of several years, as my understanding of the medium and my approach to the craft, evolved over time.
