The production of “White Eyes” marked several significant changes in my professional and personal life. I transitioned from a career in digital marketing and advertising to visual effects and compositing for Netflix. Additionally, I altered my production pipeline from one that exclusively relied on Adobe Animate to a combination of Adobe Animate and After Effects. Furthermore, my relocation from Melbourne, Australia to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, marked the appropriate time for me to retire the longstanding character, Gerkinman, from my animated short film series, albeit temporarily.

Although Gerkinman did eventually make a return upon my move back to Australia, “White Eyes” marked a significant turning point in my creative endeavors and the end of an era for the character.
