Armidale Light Festival 2024
It had been a a long long time since I last attented a light festival, I think the previous one was White Night in Melbourne well over a decade go, so I was incredibly surprised when Armidale Regional Council announced we would be having a lighting festival of our own. I ended up going with a group of other photographers and ended up having a most excellent night, even if the burger truck ran out of burgers while I was in line. Sadly I didn’t manage to capture much in terms of photos, but I did manage to capture a lot of footage of the event. I figured with all of the lights the Helios 44-2 would be the best lens choice given its reputation as a bokeh beast. While I wouldn’t say I made a cohesive piece of film out of the event, I do think I managed to capture the events general feeling of disorientation and sensory overwhelming.
