New Year 2025
I need to relax more when it comes to photography, especially when shooting with family. Yesterday, I spent the day in Tamworth with my first camera—the original Canon 200D and its kit lens. I was expecting the worst, treating it the same way you would a disposable camera. And yeah, the exposure is off in almost every photo, but I captured the moments that mattered. So, does it really matter?
It’s all too easy to get lost in the weeds. I don’t know if there’s really a lesson to be learned here, but it’s something to think about as we head into 2025.
Speaking of 2025, here’s a list of personal projects I’d like to see myself complete:
Animated Films
Midnight Yogurt (Written 2024)
Job Application (Written 2019)
Wanker (Written 2012)
Photography
Untitled Black & White Outdoor Fine Art Nude Project
Game Development
Summer Gardens (Small Adventure Game)
Untitled Small Paleoart RPG
How much of this is actually achievable? I don’t know. It’s impossible to predict how busy my commercial projects will get over the course of the year. But what’s important is growth as an artist, and personal projects are exactly how to achieve that.
Midnight Yogurt is the project with the most work completed so far, so it will be my main focus—and potentially the subject of my next blog post once I finish uploading the last of last year’s projects to the website.
Have a happy 2025, everyone!
