Uralla - Thunderbolt Festival 2024

Last Saturday saw me taking portraits at the Uralla Thunderbolts Festival for Uralla Shire Council. While it was a busy morning at the photo booth I managed to squeeze in a few cheeky event photos during the day as well. It was a beautiful day which of course meant the sun made life hard for me, but I still managed to snag a few photos I was happy with. It was fantastic seeing so much activity around the town.

As mentioned above I was actually at the festival to take portraits for grandparents day. I have taken my fair share of black and white portraits in peoples personal spaces, but taking color photos against a colorful back drop is very much new to me. I would be lying if I said I didn’t struggle with the brief and the conditions, but people generally seemed to just enjoy the process and the images were well recieved on release so maybe I did alright.
