It’s always exciting finding out about new locations that could work well for future shoots, so when Evelyn from Peacock Photography invited me to go for a trip out to Malpas Dam to explore and there was no way I could say no. I did absolutely no research before the trip and had no idea what to expect, but what I found was a location of massive size and scope. There is a lot more to explore thats for sure.
Sadly with the sunset being blocked by cloud the only photos I got on this trip I really loved were some shots of cows on the return trip home, but thats just how these things go sometimes.

Boudior photography isn’t really something I have ever seen myself doing, thats not to say I haven’t taken my fair share of intimate photos over the years, but actually working with elements like light to create sensual images, as someone who mostly does street photography, I just didn’t think I had it in me, and I don’t think this shoot really changes that, HOWEVER, given the circumstances I think these photos came out pretty well. They aren’t the sorts of photos people know me for but I think they do still very much look like my work.
I found myself in Tamworth doing some modelling work for Amy at Temptations Boudior, and she was gracious enough to let me try a little shooting for myself at the end of the day. Amy is always absolutely amazing to work with and I can’t thank her enough for the opportunity to take some photos during my visit. I might just have the bug.
This ties into a larger project I had planned for 2025 where I am wanting to explore art nudes (assuming I can find people willing to model and a location with appropriate lighting), but baby steps, I have a few more months I can fit some practice into. Not to mention actually planning my project along with its goals…

Today was my wife's birthday and to celebrate we decided to go out and do some exploring. Next up on the agenda for local places we hadn't had time to check out yet was Blue Hole, a location I am constantly hearing people talk about, and now that I have been there myself I can see why.
Of course I wanted to travel light so I only took my 200D with a 24mm lens with me, which ended up being the least ideal set up I could have gone with, but hey, you live and you learn…
