Uralla - Fairy Festival 2024
Saturday saw the return of Uralla’s Fairy Festival, and with a couple of spare hours, I thought it would be a fun opportunity to do some street photography.
The conditions were harsh, with the sun bleaching out all color, making black and white the best option for capturing this otherwise incredibly colorful festival. That said, I think it still worked out quite well. The event itself seemed a bit smaller than last year, but I’ll chalk that up to the intense heat.
During the limited time I spent at the festival, things were a bit quiet. As a result, half of my photos ended up being of Priya’s dance demonstration for her Tandav School of Dance. Priya, a frequent subject of my photography, is a great sport and always makes for fantastic photos, so no complaints there.
I also ran into Elysium Sage, who some of you might recognize from the elopement shoot I blogged about earlier this year. We snuck into an antique bookshop to take a few candid photos. Despite the low light and not having the ideal lenses for those conditions, they turned out okay. We’ve got some plans for the new year, so I’ll keep you updated as they unfold.
That’s pretty much it! I don’t think I have any more events lined up for the rest of the year, so the blog might be a bit quiet for a while.
